Ipswich Town and Leicester City have shown an interest in Stade Rennes midfielder Glenn Kamara.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who report that the Championship duo are keen on the midfielder. Rennes are keen to move him on in the January transfer window.

They report that Kamara is very much out of the picture at the French club. They had been hoping to sell him permanently to Saudi Arabia after a loan spell with Al-Shabab.

That never happened and he returned this summer but is not a part of their plans. Focus is now on the January window and a move then.

Ipswich and Leicester have already shown an interest in him. For their part, Rennes are looking to recover around €3m. They paid €10m to sign Kamara but are clearly cutting their losses. There is, though, an acceptance that they will have to make efforts for a transfer to happen.

That could include lowering their demands or sanctioning a loan deal with an option to buy. Kamara’s stance on the matter isn’t made clear. He’s simply focused on getting playing time before the end of the year. He hasn’t played since September.

Ipswich and Leicester are in the picture, though, and he’s a name to keep an eye on heading towards the winter window.
