Leeds United are said to have identified RB Leipzig’s El Chadaille Bitshiabu as a priority target for the winter market.
This was reported in the UK earlier this week. It was also explained that the Whites have held talks over a move for the defender. There were claims of other unnamed Premier League sides to have asked about his situation.
The German media relays interest from Leeds United and others and then shares their own take on this case.
Fussball Transfers indicates Leipzig would only consider a loan move as they have refused to sell the 20-year-old in the next window.
This could favour Daniel Farke’s side as they can offer the centre-back an opportunity to enjoy regular minutes.
Bitshiabu isn’t pleased that he’s been limited to 202 minutes from five matches for the Bundesliga side this season.
Bild relay claims made elsewhere about the Premier League interest, but don’t mention Leeds United or any other English club. They have ruled out a January move, either on loan or a permanent transfer, for the Frenchman.
It’s claimed Bitshiabu won’t leave the German club next month. Bild report Leipzig, led by their sporting director, have ‘internally imposed a transfer ban.’ Therefore, his move to Leeds United is off even before it got going.
Bitshiabu is currently the third choice behind Willi Orban and Castello Lukeba.
