Jakub Kiwior has been the object of several transfer rumours in recent weeks, with it thought the defender could potentially leave Arsenal in the winter market.
Not so long ago, claims from Spain stated Mikel Arteta’s side had blocked a move to Sevilla in the summer, with the La Liga club especially keen on recruiting Kiwior.
However, Arsenal weren’t keen on a move and the player remains in the Gunners squad.
So far this season, the 23-year-old has managed 367 minutes of action for Arsenal. He’s had a few appearances recently and may feel like he has a role to play for Arteta.
Given he can play as either a central defender or left back, Kiwior is a versatile option to have in the squad. That versatility is also attracting interest from elsewhere.
AreaNapoli quote him as saying: “Among the players liked there is certainly Kiwior. The Pole, who moved to Arsenal a year ago for more than €25m, is not finding much space and therefore it could become an interesting market opportunity.
“Roma is evaluating whether to make an attempt, perhaps with the formula of a loan until June. Another idea leads to Dier, a player who Mourinho has already coached at Tottenham. He is out of contract of contract and this could facilitate any negotiation.”
Chris Smalling’s uncertain fitness situation at Roma creates the need for an addition in January, and it’s something Jose Mourinho is pushing for.
So all eyes to Arsenal and Tottenham to see whether either London club makes their players available.
