West Ham United may see some strong competition to sign Jota Silva from Vitória Guimarães.
Following recent reports from Turkey claiming José Mourinho’s Fenerbahce are also interested in the player, that’s now backed up by the Portuguese press.
Newspaper A Bola today writes ‘the interest is real’, as the manager really likes him, even though there have been no approaches right now.
Fenerbahce’s chase is then said to be in very ‘early stages’, and no contacts are expected in the coming days.
Regarding West Ham, it’s said that even though they haven’t forgotten about Silva, no offers have arrived so far.
Developments with the Hammers aren’t expected in the coming days either, with the player soon taking part in medicals for pre-season with Vitória Guimarães.
It’s always worth recalling that Silva has a €20m release clause at the Portuguese side. So in case the clubs are interested in triggering the release clause, there may not even be time enough for the competitors to try to show up with a better bid.
However, it’s likelier those interested will want to go in lower given the contract has just a year left.
