Southampton technical director Johannes Spors is on Juventus’ radar. That’s according to Sky Germany, who back up reports about Spors today.

They state that their information about the Southampton director tallies with reports from Italy and Switzerland regarding Spors. Separate claims in both countries stated that Juventus had him on their shortlist.

They’re on the hunt for a sporting director and Sky report that their information is the same. He is on Juventus’ list of options being explored.

Sky explain that their interest comes thanks to Spors’ time in charge at Genoa. He was their sporting director for over three years. During this time, he was able to lure the likes of Mario Retegui to the club.

He eventually joined Atalanta for €20.9m last year and finished last season as top scorer in Serie A. He then joined Al-Qadsiah in a €68.25m move this summer. Spors is also valued for having an ‘extensive network’ at his disposal.

He’s well known in Germany and Borussia Mönchengladbach had him on their radar recently as well. Now it is Juventus who want the Southampton chief, with various reports backing up their interest this week.
