The Portuguese media continues to insist that Wolverhampton Wanderers will loan Gonçalo Guedes to Benfica once again this summer.
Despite the many reports from Lisbon, this week the Spanish press claimed Real Betis are now attentive to the winger’s situation, and could make a move for him.
Newspaper Record saw that story and return today to say Wolves still work with Benfica for a new loan.
It’s said the Molineux side believe the agreement will be closed in the ‘coming weeks’. They currently have the player at their headquarters, recovering from a knee injury.
After seeing the reports from Spain, Record just say that Real Betis are ‘attentive to all this process’.
Still, they make it clear that ‘everything indicates’ Guedes will join Benfica again before the end of the transfer window.
It’s not yet clear when Guedes will be fit to play again, as he’s had more than one knee injury this year.
The winger’s contract with Wolves runs until 2027, and it seems the club have no plans of using him in the near future.
