Atlético Madrid’s Samu Omorodion could be on his way to West Ham United, according to a report from Spain.
Journalist Antonio Ruiz told El Partidazo de COPE that Atlético have ‘reached an agreement’ with a Premier League side for the forward. The deal is around €30m, but Ruiz didn’t provide the details of the English club.
El Desmarque relay this and then provide their own update on this case, which is when they mention West Ham.
The 20-year-old joined the La Liga side from Granada last summer and Los Rojiblancos sent him out on loan to Deportivo Alavés in the same window. He managed eight goals and an assist in 35 games for Alavés in the recently concluded season.
Omorodion has returned to Atlético after saying goodbye to Alavés, and he’s set to make a switch to the Premier League.
El Desmarque say Atlético ‘can sell’ the Spain U21 international to Julen Lopetegui’s side in the summer window. This is mentioned after relaying Cope’s claim, while their title says West Ham are ‘the possible destination’ for the attacker.
If West Ham are the club to have agreed a deal with Atlético for Omorodion, there should certainly be more claims in Spain and England in the next few hours.
The Hammers appear to be making offers for players around Europe and beyond, with something of a frantic start to their summer efforts.
