On May 3rd, Tottenham Hotspur defender Radu Drăgușin’s agent Florin Manea stated his client would be open to joining Napoli if they were to appoint Antonio Conte as their new manager.
Since then, the Naples club have announced Conte’s arrival, and the Italian media have talked about the possiblity of the centre-back joining Napoli.
Tuttosport, relayed by Area Napoli, continue to discuss the Serie A side’s interest in the Tottenham player.
Conte wants to bolster his side’s defence this summer. Their priority is to sign Torino’s Alessandro Buongiorno, while they are also evaluating other profiles, and this is where the Romania international apparently fits in.
Drăgușin arrived at Tottenham from Genoa in the winter market, and has clocked in 424 minutes from nine Premier League matches.
According to Tuttosport, the 22-year-old is set to have a meeting with Ange Postecoglou to sort out his future. Napoli are waiting for the outcome of this to find out their chances of securing his services this summer.
On Thursday, Drăgușin said Tottenham are “another world” and he has grown a lot since joining them in January. The Romanian also insisted he’s looking forward to playing in Europe with Spurs next season.
Maybe the Italian media are a little ahead of themselves with this one, but that would be understandable given the agent comments.
