Tottenham will need to pay €30m if they wish to sign Antonio Nusa from Club Brugge this month, with the Belgian side likely to stick to that price point in negotiations.
That’s according to Het Niuewsblad, who say talks between the two sides ‘have only just begun’ and there is nothing impending on that front.
The newspaper pick up on reports yesterday that Tottenham were pushing to sign Nusa as they continue their rebuild under Ange Postecoglou this month.
They pull back on that somewhat, tempering expectations and excitement and say that while Tottenham are ‘pulling on the young international’s sleeve’, nothing is moving very quickly.
Rather, their editors have been able to confirm that talks between Tottenham and Club Brugge have only just begun and nothing more.
They explain that the Belgian side want €30m for the young star, the same price Chelsea offered for him in the summer, but any deal would also have to involve him spending the rest of the season in Belgium too so that he can continue his development.
The newspaper also insists that Tottenham are not the only ones in the running and almost all of the top European sides have Nusa on their list. The impression they give is that Spurs could face competition if things develop as they might hope.
For now, though, they have and it’s just initial talks taking place between the two clubs over the highly rated youngster and nothing more than that.
