For the past few months, several outlets in the Argentine media claimed that Newcastle United are interested in Boca Juniors midfielder Kevin Zenon.
Recent reports from the local press even said the Magpies ‘intensified their interest’ and could soon make a ‘concrete offer‘ to sign the youngster.
It turns out that as Planeta Boca Juniors today shares a story on Zenon’s situation, they show how hard it’ll be for Newcastle to attract the player.
There’s also a response to the Newcastle rumours, as his entourage are reportedly unaware of where the stories about the European interest in the player came from.
Boca Juniors, who signed Zenon from Union Santa Fe in January, also want to keep him. Since he’s just arrived, they’re expected to reject all offers that arrive in the summer.
Now since previous reports claimed the player has a €15m release clause, perhaps Newcastle could show up with a hostile attempt to get him signed.
