Over the past few days, there have been multiple reports of Aston Villa’s interest in Vedat Muriqi.
On Monday, Fichajes.net stated that Unai Emery is leading his side’s interest to sign the RCD Mallorca star in the winter market.
Earlier on Tuesday, we relayed a new from Italy the manager has instructed Aston Villa to make an ‘important’ offer to bring the striker to the Premier League.
Villa’s desire to secure the 28-year-old’s services continues to attract attention from the Italian press because of his past connection with Lazio.
The Serie A side sold the Kosovo international to Mallorca in the last window and as part of the agreement, they are entitled to receive 45% of the fee collected from his future sale.
This is highlighted again by Il Messaggero and they also name Aston Villa and Sevilla as the frontman’s two suitors.
It’s claimed Emery’s side and Sevilla ‘knock’ on Mallorca’s door with a €20m offer to try and secure Muriqi’s signature. If Mallorca decides to sanction his sale in January, then 45% of this fee would go to Lazio, which in return will help them improve their finances.
Aston Villa could find it difficult to sign Emery’s target since Mallorca CEO Alfonso Díaz has stated that Muriqi, who has managed eight goals and an assist this season, will not be allowed to leave in January.
