AS Roma have an ’emergency’ situation with regards to potential injuries ahead of their Champions League match against Chelsea this week.

The Italian side will travel to London on Monday, ahead of Stamford Bridge’s Wednesday match, and they’ll be doing so with several injury doubts.

Gazzetta dello Sport are pointing out the problems, and they say Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco has asked his team to show ‘character’ this week, given the tests they’re going to face against Chelsea.

Kostantinos Manolas, Stephan El Shaarawy and Kevin Strootman are all presented as among the injury doubts for Roma, and the Greek defender, if his injury is confirmed, will be the club’s 12 muscle problem already this season.

Gazzetta suggest it may not all be down to bad luck, with Di Francesco and his training methods then coming into question.

Antonio Conte has been experiencing his own injury worries ahead of the Champions League match, and it seems both teams will find themselves weakened.
