Chido Obi-Martin has already made a big impact at Manchester United, scoring goals as he looks to progress towards the senior team.

The 16-year-old’s arrival at Old Trafford, after he walked out on Arsenal, brought a lot of attention and he scored a hat-trick in his second appearance for Manchester United’s Under-18s side.

He is already proving to be a handful for players of his age and has a very bright future ahead of him.

A couple of months ago, the forward was called up to the Denmark Under-18s side and will play for them again during the ongoing international break.

The team’s boss Morten Esksen has now spoken to TipsBladet about Obi-Martin, revealing that they are in constant contact with Manchester United to stay on top of the youngster’s fitness and physical conditions.

He said:  “He has not yet played 90 minutes [for United Under-18s], but he is close, and we are in close cooperation with United in relation to having all his physical data sent over, and looking at how he has played.”

Eskesen also stated the teenager’s desire to play full games, saying: He wants to be able to go 90 minutes now. That’s his next step and he might do it for us in the next few games.”

There’s clearly an effort to be careful with the youngster and not overburden his minutes as he builds his fitness after a period without playing following his decision to leave Arsenal.
