While reports in the English media suggest Jose Mourinho has blocked Bastian Schweinsteiger from featuring in the reserves team, reports in Italy claim he could make a switch to Serie A.

Jose Mourinho has made it quite clear the German midfielder doesn’t feature in his future plans, and the former national captain is expected to make a move away from Old Trafford in January.

Schweinsteiger reportedly rejected transfer approaches from European clubs during the summer transfer window, and has made it clear he doesn’t want to play for any other European club.

Many feel MLS is likely to be the next destination for the 32-year-old, but Italian website Calciomercatonews claim it could very well be AC Milan and that a move to Italy is ‘one step away’.

It’s reported LA Galaxy are trying to sign the Manchester United midfielder, but Schweinsteiger has received an important offer in the last few hours from AC Milan.

AC Milan are looking to sign an experienced midfielder, and have already contacted Schweinsteiger’s representatives to present them a contract.

Schweinsteiger has a contract until 2018 at Manchester United, but the Premier League side are keen on offloading him and he could very well be available on a free transfer in January.

AC Milan wouldn’t be able to match his wages and it may be hard to convince Schweinsteiger to change his mind about playing in Europe, but then Milan are a grand club and it could well be tempting.
