Jack Harrison has shared his delight after he took a step close to completing a loan move to Fiorentina.

Tuttomercatoweb have comments from him, alongside pictures of the footballer arriving to complete his move to La Viola. He has arrived in Florence today to undergo a medical with the Italian club. He will then sign his contract with them.

Journalists were waiting for him, and he was happy to speak, telling them: “Forza Viola, I’m so happy to be here.”

According to TMW, the deal between Leeds United and Fiorentina is a loan until the end of the season. That loan includes an option for a permanent transfer, set at €6m. That came after something of a back and forth this week.

Initial reports suggested that Harrison was set to leave Leeds United rapidly. A deal had been done quickly for him with Fiorentina, and all was going well. Too well, it seems.

Then the deal appeared to hit the brakes.

Reports in Italy said this was down to Leeds United. They had reportedly changed the terms of the deal at the last minute. Rather than an option, they wanted a mandatory clause to be set at €15m.

Some reports, even pushed that up to €16-18m.

For Leeds United, that looks to have simply been a bargaining position to come down from. Serie A clubs always believe they can bargain Premier League sides lower, so it makes sense to go in with something ridiculous.

Leeds United player faces relegation fight

Now the loan lasts until the end of the season with a €6m option. They may be less than happy with that, but it appears Harrison is absolutely delighted.

Fiorentina are in the midst of a serious relegation fight, currently in Serie A’s bottom three. They’re three points from 17th placed Lecce and safety.
