Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali featured for Italy in their 2-0 win over Moldova on Thursday.
After the game, he was asked his emotions about the upcoming game against Norway at the San Siro – AC Milan’s home.
The midfielder said, as relayed by Tuttomercatoweb: “Exciting. The last time I was there was almost three years ago.
“Every time I return there in my career, I will be excited. I can’t say I experience it like the first time, but it will always be like returning for the second time”
These comments from the Newcastle United man have caught the attention of the Italian press, who never back away from talking about the midfielder and his future.
Journalist Carlo Pellegatti spoke about the 25-year-old on his Youtube channel. He believes the words are a sign that Tonali wants to return to Milan in the future.
Newcastle United star’s words grasped
He said, relayed by PianetaMilan: “I’m quite sure, not next year or the next few years, Milan doesn’t have the money for Tonali’s transfer fee and salary.
“I’m sure though that he will return to Milan, he wants to return to Milan.”
Speaking further, the Italian claimed that the Azzurri star wants to end his career with the Rossoneri.
“I don’t know at what age, but he wants to end his career at Milan, maybe even as captain.”
Suggestions like these aren’t new, especially since Juventus have also been linked with Tonali for months now.
Considering how the midfielder’s contract at Newcastle United runs out in 2029, signing him anytime soon will be difficult for any club.
More than that, everything indicates that Tonali’s value is growingly quickly at Tyneside. He has played 15 times in all competitions this season, assisting thrice.
The ex-Milan man has quickly become one of Eddie Howe’s most important players.
That is why a move from either Milan or Juventus will have to come nearer to the end of his contract at St James Park.
