Joining Blackburn Rovers for around €500k back in 2020, Thomas Kaminski has now established himself as a key player with the Championship side.
He has made 30 appearances in all competitions this season, keeping 10 clean sheets and conceding 40 goals in the process, and has even been called up a few times with the Belgium squad over the years.
The Blackburn man has yet to get his first cap, but there is hope that he can in the near future, as he continues to shine with Blackburn, as explained by his twin brother, Mathias, in an interview with HLN.
He said: “He’s doing very well there. He’s found his place at a great club and is now one of the leaders in the dressing room. That has to do with his performance and the status he has built up there. He likes that English mentality of hard work.”
Called up by Domenico Tedesco in the new Belgium manager’s first squad, the Blackburn star has a lot of competition to see off, sadly, with Thibaut Courtois the number one between the sticks for a long a time now.
Still, Mathias Kaminski is delighted for his brother.
He added: “The class from 1992 is a very strong one. I’m proud that my brother is there. We followed the squad announcement live together with our dad Jacek. We immediately congratulated him, but he was training. We are very happy for him. Our family is very close.”
Prior to move to Blackburn Rovers, Kaminski had spent time at Gent, Germinal Beerschot, OH Leuven, Anorthosis in Cyprus, Anderlecht, Copenhagen in Denmark and KV Kortrijk.
