Recent Besiktas signing Georges Kevin Nkoudou has spoken to Turkish newspaper Sabah about his time at Tottenham Hotspur and what he wants to achieve at Besiktas.

The French winger joined the Black Eagles last month for a fee believed to be in the region of €4m and now hopes to make a fresh start in his career.

Speaking to Sabah, Nkoudou said on his future in Turkey: “I think there’s a new life starting for me after Tottenham. I am very pleased with my decision. The fans are absolutely fantastic. I’ve been also told about that before I came here, but still, I am very surprised. The atmosphere is amazing inside the stadium.”

After joining Tottenham from Marseille in 2016, following a very protracted transfer drama, Nkoudou made only 27 appearances for the Premier League club, scoring just one goal. Most of these games came via the bench, and the 24 year old likely feels he could have been given more chances when fit.

During his three seasons with Spurs the player also had loan spells at Burnley and AS Monaco, but those moves were not a real success, which wouldn’t do his arguments of a lack of chances much justice.

The attacker can now make his debut for Besiktas at the weekend when the Super Lig side take on Gazişehir. There’s plenty time left in his career to get things back on track.
