There are two reasons why Marcos Rojo continues to be a hot topic in Argentina. Firstly, because his loan at Estudiantes is running out at the end of the month, and secondly because he’s been seen breaking quarantine more than once.

Club president Juan Sebastián Verón has been interviewed by Radio Provincia this week, and when speaking about the player, he talked about both issues.

Last week, the Manchester United loanee was seen hanging out with friends as they got in a court to play paddle-ball. Since the club’s administration said their entrance wasn’t allowed, the controversy got even bigger.

“About what happened in the quarantine with Marcos Rojo and the videos that emerged, I’m not babysitting anyone and everyone knows what they do, obviously I do not like these things”, said the former Manchester United midfielder (via El Diario De La Pampa).

Regarding the loan deal, Verón continues to claim that their wish is to extend the spell, but it’s up to the Red Devils’ decision.

“What happens to Marcos Rojo does not depend on us, it depends on United and the strength he can do. I spoke to Marcos, I love him very much because I also have known him since he was a boy. He told me that he wants to continue and stay here, hopefully he can give but it doesn’t depend on the club.”

Marcos Rojo’s contract with Manchester United runs until 2021, but Argentine clubs interested in his services don’t feel they can afford a transfer in case the Red Devils decide to sell the player instead of loaning him out again.
