Even though Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison didn’t get any minutes under his belt during the international break, that doesn’t mean he’s having a bad situation with the national team.
Outlet UOL today shares a story claiming that despite the striker’s absence, he’s actually very appreciated by Brazil manager Dorival Junior.
It’s claimed that the coach approved Richarlison’s ‘dedication’ to being with the national team following the recovery of his knee injury, with the staff claiming he made a ‘tremendous effort’ to be with the squad.
According to UOL, since the player only had 10 minutes played for Tottenham since his recovery, he knew there were little chances he’d be on the pitch for Brazil, but had no doubts about joining the team.
Following last night’s match against Spain, Richarlison said: “I spoke to Professor Dorival. He understood that I’m not 100% fit. I’ve been feeling my knee a bit. Even with the day-to-day effort, I felt it. I’m happy with the team’s performance, though. We grew a lot in the two games and now I’ll recover well”.
UOL claims that Richarlison is ‘high’ in Dorival Junior’s esteem not only for his effort, but also for the way he helps youngsters during the day-to-day, meaning he’s expected to be in the Copa América squad.
With Tottenham playing on Saturday against Luton Town, we shall see if the striker will be available to play or if Ange Postecoglou will give him a little bit more time to recover.
