Last week, Joao Felix spoke to the Spanish media and ended up chatting about his compatriot Bernardo Silva.
The Manchester City star has been linked with a move to Barcelona for years, and Joao Felix wants to help make that happen in the coming summer window.
In his chat last week, the Atletico Madrid owned player was open and publicly said that he’s been trying to talk Bernardo into the move. That probably isn’t something which would require a lot of work, since it’s been thought for some time that it’s something the Manchester City man wants.
Now, to double down, Joao Felix has spoken again about the very same topic. Given his original words obviously caused a little transfer stir, he was asked to further explain what he’d been talking to Bernardo about.
Mundo Deportivo quote him as saying: “If Bernardo Silva comes, I’m going to ask for commission. Everything I have said is true and if he comes they will be delighted with him.
“He is very careful with everything and he asked me about places to live, places to eat, about security… He asked me a little about everything and I said about tax issues because that’s what came to mind.”
Then Joao Felix was asked if his efforts have had the desired impact and convinced the player, to which he said: “I think so, I think so. Well, but now I don’t think it depends on him.”
Of course, it’s down to Manchester City and Barcelona to agree a deal. Apart from that, Joao Felix himself may not even be at Barcelona next season, given Atletico Madrid still own him.
Barcelona’s money troubles would surely make it difficult to sign both players in the summer, so perhaps Joao Felix’s words may come back to haunt him.
