Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen’s decision to join Eintracht Frankfurt on a loan deal in the summer window has clearly paid off.

The right-back has featured in every fixture for the Bundesliga side this season, making 12 appearances in all competitions.

On Sunday, the Leeds owned player was replaced in the 38th minute against Union Berlin, after picking up an injury.

Eintracht Frankfurt have confirmed the 27-year-old has suffered a “thigh muscle injury” and will be out of action for the “coming weeks”. The Leeds man’s latest setback is also a blow for Denmark.

That’s according to Bild, who state the fullback is set to miss November’s international games with the national team.

The Denmark international can return at the earliest against Werder Bremen on November 23rd, after the next international break. Bild say the German club are expecting a ‘longer break’ for him, without mentioning any time frame.

Eintracht Frankfurt manager Dino Toppmöller is ‘angry with himself’ for the player’s injury blow.

“Rasmus will be out for now. It’s a muscular injury,” he said.

“I’m annoyed with myself. Before the game, I seriously considered whether I should leave him out. Rasmus has always played, including for the national team.”

Kristensen has been ‘irreplaceable’ since arriving at Eintracht Frankfurt from Leeds.

On October 7th, Sky Deutschland reported they have made a decision to buy him from the Whites. Two days later, Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Timmo Hardung played down this claim, but he talked about the possibility of retaining the Dane.
