Tottenham Hotspur youngster Luka Vuskovic has hinted he’ll remain at the club this summer, despite all the big clubs in Europe wanting him.
Sport BILD report on the positive message from the Tottenham youngster today when asked about his future.
Tottenham loan deal works out
The 19-year-old has spent this season on loan with HSV Hamburg, where he’s impressed since day one. Not only has he established himself as a key player at the club, but he’s also won several Bundesliga awards and earned attention around Europe.
Barcelona are long term admirers, with his agent pushing them to do a deal. Bayern Munich are watching, while Inter Milan could even attempt an ambitious move this summer as well.
All indications have indicated that the defender also wants to leave Tottenham this summer. In fact, he wants to leave regardless of whether they stay up or are relegated.
Whether he gets that wish, remains to be seen. But for now, he’s set to be a Tottenham player in the summer and that’s something he accepts.
“I’m torn,” he said.
“On the one hand, I’m happy because a lot of what was agreed upon with Tottenham has come to fruition in Hamburg. But I’m also sad because I really want to stay here.
“As you know, it’s my wish to play for HSV alongside my brother Mario. But in football, you can’t have everything you want. I’ll be a Tottenham player again starting this summer.”
“I’m a Tottenham player”
If he had his choice, he’d remain at HSV next season and potentially play alongside his brother once he returns from a drugs ban. But he also sees Tottenham as a good enough next step for his development as well.
“I don’t know, I’m neither an agent nor a club official,” he added regarded the next step.
“But if there’s a chance, I’d like to stay. Time will tell what happens. But of course, if Tottenham has me firmly in their plans, that would be a very good situation for me. The most important thing for my development is that I play regularly.”
He is also aware of the rumours, and Tottenham reportedly looking for €50m upwards if a sale is to happen this summer. For now, he simply insists he’s a Tottenham player and nothing more, even if he is flattered.
“It’s certainly nice that my name is being associated with such clubs,” he concluded.
“I also don’t know if everything that’s written about me and other clubs is true. I’m a Tottenham player. We’ll see what happens in the summer.”
