Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto has insisted he is 100% fit and ready for Euro 2024 with Portugal this summer.
The forward has been speaking at a press conference today, relayed by O Jogo, insisting he is ready to be a part of Roberto Martinez’s squad.
Neto has endured another frustrating campaign with injuries at Wolves this season, featuring in just 44% of the available minutes in the Premier League and managing just 20 appearances.
He’s often been the star for Wolves when fully fit but getting him to that state has proven to be a difficult task in recent years.
This season alone he has missed 19 games for Wolves with hamstring injuries, spending 58 days and then 67 days on the treatment table in two different spells.
They followed an ankle injury in 2022/23 that saw him miss the majority of that campaign and spend 127 days in treatment, while in 2020/21 a knee injury kept him out for 297 days and 52 games for Wolves and Portugal.
The injury issues have been a constant concern for him and Wolves, but he insists all problems are behind him ahead of EURO 2024.
“I think injuries, for any player, are always difficult,” he said.
“Unfortunately, they were my first two muscle injuries. Above all, I think it was a positive season for me. Things turned out well.
“I could have better, but I think every season is different, sometimes it’s more difficult, sometimes easier. I feel perfectly able to help and I’m here to do my best.
“Hope is always present, things were going very well for me at the club. Obviously, it wasn’t easy to deal with injuries, but I made a lot of assists and scored goals.
“I felt really good in the last game, fresh. After some time off I’m at 200% and this game was really good for gaining rhythm. I’m 200% ready to face the European Championship.”
