When Jorge Mendes wants to move one of his players, he has two clubs in his back pocket to do so.

Those are Wolverhampton Wanderers and Valencia, but with the latter of the two in some sort of financial quagmire, it’s the Premier League club who retain most of his attention these days.

They have money, are competitive and already have a number of his clients in their squad, with another potentially on the way.

That’s according to various members of the Italian media, with Calciomercato bringing the latest on the situation following Tuttosport’s this morning.

The previous article stated Napoli had ‘started to move something’ with Wolves regarding a transfer for Faouzi Ghoulam, who needs to move after stagnating in Italy.

Injuries have plagued his chances of first-team football, and with the club planning without him, an exit is on the cards.

Calciomercato explain the idea of a move to Molineux is ‘more and more concrete’, while an agreement between the two sides ‘could come soon’.

Furthermore, it’s made clear Ghoulam ‘would appreciate the English choice for his future’.

That’s good news, and if Wolves can get a decent deal, there is a player in there somewhere.

He just needs a run of games, a manager who believes in him and close monitoring to avoid further injuries.
