Idea of star signing for Liverpool laughed at by former manager – Suggests he wouldn’t want to live in city

Amid claims in France that Kylian Mbappé will be joining Real Madrid next season, Liverpool continue to be brought up.

That’s because they have always been seen as the alternative to the La Liga giants for the Frenchman, as the Reds previously tried to sign him when he was at AS Monaco.

Whether Mbappé does go to Real Madrid remains to be seen, but one man named Rolland Courbis believes a move to Liverpool is never on the cards for the forward, as he explained his view on the matter to RMC Sport, relayed by Le10 Sport.

The question asked to the former Montpellier and Stade Rennais manager was related to the advice he would give the superstar if he came to him for some.

Firstly, he suggested a move to Real Madrid might not be the best idea, as he would end up playing as a central striker to potentially ‘clean the boots’ of Jude Bellingham and fight for a spot with Vinicius Junior.

Then came the idea of a transfer to Liverpool.

Courbis said: “My friend, there isn’t just football in the life of a player. There’s also the place where you live. If you offer me the choice of a life in Paris or Liverpool, I’ve already decided before you have finished asking the question.”
