Last summer, Dean Huijsen swapped Juventus for AFC Bournemouth and has enjoyed an impressive debut season in the Premier League.
The 19-year-old wasn’t given opportunities at Juve, and they sent him on loan to AS Roma in January 2024. He featured regularly at Roma and continues to impress for the Premier League club.
His performances for Bournemouth have seen him get linked to Real Madrid. On Thursday, the centre-back stated everyone wants to play for Los Blancos when asked the possibility of joining them.
Huijsen discussed this during a chat with Los Amigos de Edu and Málaga Hoy relay more comments from the same interview. They have focused on his time Málaga CF.
The defender spent six years at Málaga’s youth system before they sold him to Juventus in 2021. He has publicly talked about his love for the second division Spanish club.
“I had a very good childhood. When I was little, I was always playing football. And if not, I played FIFA. I have a good time with my family; they’re my parents, and I get along well with them,” he said.
“On Christmas Eve, I wore a suit and stuck the Málaga crest on my head and put the ball on my foot for a photo. I’m still a Málaga fan, but before, I was completely crazy.”
The Spain international was asked whether he would like to return to his former club in the future.
Responding to that, Huijsen explained: “I would love to. I always say that at the end of my career, if I can, it would be a dream.”
The player has a release clause in his Bournemouth contract, said to be around €58m. He made 29 appearances so far for the Cherries this season.
