Jaimy Kroesen has criticised Liverpool manager Arne Slot for failing to uphold an agreement they made at Feyenoord.

Algemeen Dagblad have interviewed the 22-year-old, who spent two years with Feyenoord U21s, having joined them on a free transfer.

Operating as a goalkeeper, the Dutchman played 18 games for Feyenoord’s U21 side, but Slot never gave him minutes with their first team when he was in charge.

The current Liverpool manager included him in a squad to face Ajax during the 2022/23 season and that was his only experience with Feyenoord’s senior team.

Slot managed Feyenoord for three years before leaving them for the Reds in 2024 and in his final year with the Eredivisie club, he agreed to promote Kroesen to the first team during pre-season.

Kroesen says the Reds manager initially agreed to have him as fourth-choice stopper for the first team before breaking the agreement, which clearly didn’t please him.

“I was sitting in Lennard Hartjes’ car when I saw the selection for that match. My name had been removed from the list. I went completely crazy,” he said.

“I’m a fan of him as a coach, but I don’t think much of him as a person. We had made agreements, but they weren’t honoured.

“I’m a Feyenoord fan through and through, I’ve been going there since I was four, but I’ve realised that it’s not a good idea to play for a club you love so much. I can’t stand injustice. It was so bad that I gave up in the last six months. I only played one match.”

After the end of the 2023/24 season, Slot left Feyenoord for Liverpool while the Dutch club released Kroesen. He waited until January to join Excelsior Maassluis and then moved to lower division side DBS Eindhoven.
