Although Aston Villa’s start to the season hasn’t been great, the 5-1 win over Norwich City last weekend has given them a good reason to breathe calmly during the international break.

Dean Smith’s side are now three positions above the relegation zone, and will have a couple of weeks to sort things out before their next Premier League challenge.

But there’s someone who’s pretty optimistic about the rest of the season, and that’s Wesley Moraes. The striker scored twice against the Canaries on Saturday, and is expecting many more goals now.

The player has been interviewed by Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, and revealed that he has set a personal record to achieve before the end of the his first season in the Premier League.

“I want 20 goals. I have it as my goal and I am going to achieve it,” Wesley Moraes told Globo Esporte.

Wesley left Brazil quite early in his career. That’s why he’s not very well known in his home country, and must prove himself so he can get a chance to play for the national team one day.

“I have three dreams. One was to play the Premier League. The second is to go to the national team. And the other is to play the World Cup. When I was offered the chance to come to Aston Villa, I didn’t think twice. I’m playing one of the best leagues in the world. It’s about having a good season, and maybe I have a chance at the national team.”

This extra motivation can only be good news for Aston Villa.
