It appears that Tottenham’s Lucas Moura has held an interview with Stats Perform, which was then picked up by various outlet in Europe, as clips continue to appear.

We covered a previous bit from the Brazilian’s chat with the platform where he discussed picking Neymar over Harry Kane if he had the choice.

Well, he was also asked about the good start to the season Tottenham have been having under Antonio Conte, as Spurs remain unbeaten in their first six games in the Premier League.

While everyone saw the changes already put in place by the Italian manager since he took over at the London club, few would have expected such a rise in less than a season in charge, even if a chunk of money has been spent along the way.

Still, Lucas Moura was asked if there was a chance for them to win the title, and the winger seemed rather optimistic about Tottenham as a whole.

He said, relayed by Foot Mercato: “To be completely honest, of all the seasons I’ve been here, I think this is the one where we have the best chance. This is the season when there are the most expectations. I think it’s down to the quality of the team, the manager and the group. The team kept getting stronger.

“Tottenham is a great power in football today. Of all the years I have been here, this is the season where we are closest to the title. But we know that it will be very difficult to win it because it is the most competitive Championship in the world. Many teams are strong this year, we are aware of the competition we face. But yes, I think we will fight for the title.”

Despite Tottenham doing well in the league, Moura hasn’t been able to contribute as much as he will have wanted, mostly due to a calf injury, although Conte wasn’t overly using him before that either, giving him 12 minutes of game time in the first two matches of the campaign.
