Currently in international duty with Spain, Bryan Gil has spoken out about his recent move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The winger, who’s the captain of his country’s U21 squad, was interviewed by RFEF, and shared his delight at having a new adventure in the Premier League.

“With great enthusiasm. There was a change in my career going to Tottenham this season and I think it’s a big step. I’m really hopeful,” said Bryan Gil (via Sport).

He also talked about the pride of wearing the armband so early in his career.

“The captaincy of the U21 is something that the coach gives you and for that I’m very grateful. Those of us who’ve been with us the longest have to lead the group off the pitch because inside you can see that we are very united. Happy and proud to wear the armband.”

Bryan Gil joined Tottenham in a €25m move from Sevilla. Even though he’s still to get much playing time in the Premier League, as he only had two minutes in the 1-0 win against Watford, he was a starter in both Europa Conference League matches against Paços de Ferreira, even making an assist in the 3-0 victory which gave Spurs qualification for the next round.

Now with Spain’s U21 squad, he’s facing Lithuania today. Then he returns to London, where Tottenham go to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace on Saturday.
