Leeds United defender Robin Koch appears to have put Elland Road firmly in the rearview mirror as he continues to insist how happy he is at Eintracht Frankfurt.
Fussball News cover the German defender’s latest comments today as he continues to shine on loan in the Bundesliga.
The Leeds defender joined Frankfurt on loan in the summer, taking advantage of a clause in his deal at Elland Road that allowed him to leave temporarily following relegation to the Championship.
He’s been a key player for the German side since, making 23 appearances in all competitions and helping Eintracht to sixth in the table at this moment in time.
All indications from Germany have been that Eintracht will make the move a permanent one in the summer, with it explained when he first moved that they had paid a small price to almost guarantee as much.
That deal still needs negotiating in January, when Koch will be in the final six months of his contract at Leeds and thus free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with clubs around Europe ahead of the summer.
And it seems that’s all he’s thinking about at this moment in time, with Leeds and Elland Road very much at the back of his mind.
“We are happy with that for the moment. But we still have a lot of plans for the new year,” he is quoted as saying.
“At the beginning of the season it was clear to all of us that everything couldn’t run smoothly straight away because there were a lot of changes in the team, but you could see how we were getting more and more comfortable and how we were getting better and better.
“We brought to the pitch what we imagined. And from then on we played very good games.” He himself is “very satisfied” with himself.
“The team and the whole club welcomed me really well from the start and I quickly settled in well. I feel incredibly comfortable at Eintracht and in Frankfurt and I think you can see that on the pitch too.”
