Dinamo Zagreb winger Marko Pjaca has admitted that beating Tottenham in 2021 remains one of his favourite moments at the club.
24 Sata have an interview with the winger today in which he discusses all matters at the club and his favourite memories of the club, who he initially joined in 2014.
He joined them as a youngster for €1m that year from NK Lokomotiva but had departed by 2016, joining Juventus in a €29.4m deal.
He failed to settle at the Italian club and spent the next few years on various loan deal with the likes of Schalke, Fiorentina, Anderlecht, Genoa, Torino and Empoli before eventually departing on a free transfer in 2023 for HNK Rijeka.
He returned to his first club a year later, joining Dinamo Zagreb once again in a €1.5m deal where he has been a regular since.
It meant he was not a part of the squad who took on Tottenham in the Europa League last eight in 2021, one of the Croatian club’s most famous results.
They had initially lost 2-0 to Tottenham at home in the first leg but turned it around in the second leg, with an impressive 3-0 win seeing them through and Tottenham out.
Pjaca was watching, though, and admits it remains one of his favourite moments to look back on for Dinamo.
“Like every Dinamo player, I will remember the victory against Tottenham forever,” he said.
“Oh, how Oršić played then, incredible. Who believed that Dinamo would knock Tottenham out after 0-2 in the first game. A wonderful game, I remember that victory with pleasure.”
