Feyenoord defender Quilindschy Hartman is good enough to play for Manchester City and it’s only a matter of time before he secures a big move.
That’s according to journalist Martijn Krabbendam, who believes the left-back would slot in easily to Pep Guardiola’s squad.
Hartman has been impressing for the Dutch champions since making the step up into the first team in September 2022.
Since then, he’s managed 11 assists and two goals in 69 games for the club, good numbers for a player who doesn’t turn 23 until later this year.
He’s been earning rave reviews, particularly as he’s also been playing in Europe and has made his debut for the Netherlands, and a report last year even indicated Manchester City could be interested in him.
At the time it was made clear he would absolutely be unable to turn down such a move, should Pep Guardiola and co decide to move for a more specialised left-back in future.
The question is whether Hartman, who has only played in the Eredivisie so far, could make the step up and perform for a side regularly competing on multiple fronts and in the biggest league in the world.
Krabbendam has no worries on that front, though, insisting Hartman is more than good enough to play for Manchester City.
“I think Hartman can play at the level of the European top,” Krabbendam told them Dick Voormekaar Podcast, relayed by FR 12.
“Whether it’s Manchester City or Real Madrid, you name it. Ultimately, Hartman will be able to compete at this level. I really believe that, given the number of clubs that are already showing interest.
“He plays with so much ease when you see how he is now performs. It seems as if it doesn’t cost him any effort. If he also performs well at the European Championships, then it’s all over.”
