AS Roma’s Robin Olsen spent the 2020/21 season on loan at Everton and the goalkeeper has done well when called upon for the Merseyside club.
Having made 11 appearances in all competitions, the Sweden international kept three clean sheets and conceded 16 goals in the process.
On May 26th, Corriere dello Sport reported the 31-year-old will return to the Serie A side from his loan stay at Goodison Park, but the Giallorossi are hoping he stays with Everton for one more season on loan.
The custodian is currently with the national team preparing for the European championship.
Fotbollskanalen had an opportunity to catch up with the Roma keeper, and the news outlet state Olsen is ‘unsure’ whether he will stay at Everton, return to Roma or join a new club in the summer.
“I have not thought about it. I look forward to the championship [Euros] now, that’s what I focus on. The rest we have to take after the European Championships,” Olsen said.
“I have enjoyed myself in England and then we will see what happens after the European championship. This is what I have been looking forward to and this is what I have been longing for. Now I’m going to enjoy.”
Olsen also gave his take on Carlo Ancelotti’s exit from Everton.
Earlier this week, the Italian left the Premier League side to take the managerial job at Real Madrid.
“Of course, it’s nice for Carlo to take over Real. It’s nothing I had heard of. But it is a great opportunity for him that is difficult to say no to, I think,” he explained.
