On September 8th, Graham Potter left Brighton & Hove Albion to become Thomas Tuchel’s successor at Chelsea.

The Blues brought in Potter a day after they sacked Tuchel, while the Seagulls are yet to appoint a permanent successor.

Last week, there were claims Brighton could look at Bodø/Glimt manager Kjetil Knutsen. Viaplay expert Kasper Wikestad had stated the vacant job at The Amex would seem like a dream job for the 53-year-old, who has been in charge of the Norwegian club since 2018.

Avisa Nordland interviewed Knutsen and asked him about recent rumours linking him to the Premier League side.

“Firstly, I have Morten Wivestad as my agent. I have been clear that now I stand with my head in a pressure cooker, and things that are outside Bodø/Glimt I am completely uninterested in,” he said, as relayed by Nettavisen.

“I do not want any enquiries, and I do not answer any calls. Whether it’s +35 or whatever. I don’t answer +47 either. I only have 100 percent focus on Bodø/Glimt.

“Even people in my immediate circle ask if something is happening. The answer is that I have no answers, because I am only focused on what is here.”

Nettavisen got in touch with Wivestad for an update about the Brighton links but have not yet received a response from the agent.

Two days ago, reports from Italy stated Roberto De Zerbi could be a concrete possibility to be the new Brighton manager after the latter made contact with his agent. He is without a job since leaving Shakhtar Donetsk in July.

The Seagulls’ weekend fixture has been postponed and they will next be in action after the international break, when they face Liverpool on October 1st.
