Djurgårdens IF goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterström has confirmed to the Swedish media that Derby County are trying to sign him but wasn’t clear on whether he’s played his last game for the Allsvenskan club.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to the Rams in recent weeks following reports they have an agreement with Djurgårdens IF sporting director Bosse Andersson.
Expressen have asked Zetterström about the interest from Derby County and when he expects the transfer to happen. The Swede has confirmed he travelled to England for a medical but is still unsure when he will make the move to Pride Park.
“I don’t really know yet what applies. I was there for a medical examination. Most people know that. What happens next, I don’t know,” said the Sweden international.
Last week we covered reports from Sweden that Derby County had an agreement to sign Zetterström for £2m, plus £600k in add-ons. It was also claimed Djurgårdens IF are already looking to bring in a replacement goalkeeper.
Zetterström has made 15 league appearances for his club this season and is contracted until June 2025. The Stockholm born keeper made his debut for Sweden last year,
