With Arsenal being known for their effort in recent years to find young talents, we are pretty certain that they have scouts watching the U-20 World Cup, which is taking place in Argentina.
There, we see Colombia standing out in Group C with two wins in two games, following their victories against Israel and Japan.
And it turns out that Tomas Angel, who scored a goal in their last game, dreams of playing for Arsenal one day. That was revealed last night in a chat with TyC Sports.
The Atletico Nacional youngster was asked about clubs he’d like to play for, and had no doubts about expressing his desire to feature for the Gunners.
“My dream is clear, it’s the Premier League, I want to get there. I love Arsenal, that’s my dream, to be able to play there,” said Angel.
The player also talked about how special it’s been to play in Buenos Aires.
“I love River, this city transmits a passion for football… my skin crawled when I got here. It’s something strange, I’ve never felt it, it’s a football country that has a lot of love for this sport. If I can play for River, time will tell, but I love River, I love it.”
Angel is a product of Atletico Nacional’s youth ranks, and for the first team he has six goals and one assist in 15 appearances this season.
He had already captained Colombia’s U-19 side and now leads them in the U-20 squad, wearing the No.9 jersey. In case they go far in the World Cup, then Arsenal will certainly be keeping an eye on his potential.
