PSV Eindhoven manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has confirmed there is interest in Noni Madueke amid reports of interest from Chelsea.
Madueke is the latest name to be linked with a move away from PSV following Cody Gakpo’s move to Liverpool at the end of last month.
A report earlier today linked Chelsea with a move for him, stating that Madueke could leave for the Blues for a Gakpo like fee.
That report made it clear it was yet to be seen whether Chelsea would move for the forward, having already spent big this month to sign Joao Felix from Atlético Madrid.
There is clear a belief at PSV that they are interested in Madueke, though, despite the Dutch side’s preference to sell him in the summer transfer window.
That has been confirmed by manager Van Nistelrooy, who admits an offer the club cannot refuse could arrive before the end of the month.
“I know there is interest,” journalist Rik Elfrink reports him saying.
“But as a coach you would rather keep your best players. Situations can arise where clubs come with an offer that cannot be stopped.”
#Chelsea

De Telegraaf have a little bit more on the situation and state Chelsea are making ‘serious work’ of chasing the forward, but PSV would ‘only be willing to cooperate’ if a transfer fee of €40m or more was made.
They also have more comprehensive quotes from Ruud Van Nistelrooy, who said: “I know that is the case [there is interest]. This is due to its qualities and performance. It’s worrisome.
“We need to see if we can keep him. I very much hope for that. We must do everything we can to do that. You also know that things can take off, if the purse is pulled hard. Then you have to be ready with several options, because then you would lose the second player in the winter.”
