With Alexandre Lacazette having switched Arsenal for Lyon last summer, there could be a couple of reasons for him to regret that transfer.
The Gunners now stand on top of the Premier League table for several weeks, and seem very confident they can win the title after 19 years.
Meanwhile, the French club only sit in 8th position on the Ligue 1 table, living a disappointing season so far.
So speaking to the French media on Friday, Lacazette was asked about his departure from Arsenal, and claims that’s not something that has been concerning him.
“No, I’m not asking myself any questions, each season is different,” said Lacazette (via Foot Mercato).
“I came back with several challenges in mind. I knew it would be complicated. I still believe in the club’s project and in my partners.”
Lacazette left Lyon to sign for Arsenal in the summer of 2017 on a €53m deal, and in his five years with the Gunners, he had 71 goals and 36 assists in 206 appearances for the clubs.
The French side managed to sign him on a free transfer this summer, immediately making him their captain.
He actually has good numbers for the club this season, with 10 goals and four assists in 19 appearances, but that hasn’t been enough for the Ligue 1 side to have a better campaign so far.
