Signed by Wolverhampton Wanderers thanks to Jorge Mendes, Patrick Cutrone never managed to settle at Molineux.
He struggled to find the back of the net, which is what he was bought to do, and ended up going out on loan a number of times, to clubs such as Fiorentina and Valencia.
In the end, his time at Wolves came to an end permanently when he was sold to Como in Serie B, where he appears to be very happy these days.
About his transfer from Wolves to Como, he said: “When they told me about this project, I immediately said yes. It’s a good long-term project, I’m happy to be a part of it. I’m still young. A project like this is a great opportunity to relaunch myself. I want to do well for myself and for Como.”
The striker has five goals in 12 appearances this season for the second-tier club, but has found the back of the net 14 times in 48 appearances since joining.
Compare that to three goals and four assists in 28 games for Wolves, and it’s clear he is far happier on and off the pitch where he is now.
