On Sunday, Tuttosport reported Tottenham Hotspur retaining Dejan Kulusevski would depend on whether or not they qualify for Europe.
The Sweden international has been on loan at Tottenham from Juventus since January 2022 and the former have an option to make his stay permanent for €35m. There’s been claims in Italy that Spurs are trying to get a discount from the Serie A side to buy him.
Tottenham have failed to qualify for European competition despite finishing the season with a 4-1 win over Leeds United at Elland Road on Sunday. Spurs finished a point behind Aston Villa, who have qualified for the UEFA Conference League next season.
After the weekend clash against Leeds, the 23-year-old had a chat with Viaplay, relayed by Fotbolltransfers, where he was asked about his future at the Premier League side.
“I honestly don’t know [what will happen], I just focus on doing the best possible on the pitch. Now of course I have to talk to the club and then we’ll see what happens,” he said.
This indicates even the winger isn’t clear whether he’ll play at Tottenham, Juve or another club next season.
