Late last week, after the transfer window shut, we saw Albert Sambi Lokonga speaking to the Belgian media about his time at Luton Town.
The midfielder, currently on loan with the Hatters until the end of the season, made it clear he was thoroughly enjoying his time at the club, and wasn’t sure what his future would hold.
This week, after the 4-4 draw against Newcastle, he spoke to Playsports, relayed by Voetbal Primeur, where he discussed how Rob Edwards has been one of the main catalysts of his great form at Luton Town.
It’s all about the confidence the manager has in him: “At least he has it in me. He knows what I can bring to the team and I have my role within the team. I am very happy with that responsibility.”
The point against Eddie Howe’s team leave Luton Town just one point above the relegation zone, and avoiding the drop continues to remain the main target for the Hatters this season after their unexpected promotion.
Sambi Lokonga added: “We believe in it, and we have the qualities to achieve it.”
The 24-year-old saw most of the first half of the season pass him by because of an injury, but since his start in the 1-0 win against Newcastle in December, he has stayed in the first-team, picking up two assists along the way, including one in the 4-0 thrashing of Brighton less than a week ago.
