Randal Kolo Muani’s loan spell at Tottenham didn’t go according to plan. Now back at Juventus, he has opened up about life in Turin.
The striker has started both of Juve’s games in the Serie A, playing an important role in winning both the ties. While Luciano Spalletti has criticised him for missing chances, his movement and link-up has been key so far in the campaign.
The move is clearly paying off. Sport Witness have previously covered how they were desperate to sign him multiple times. Even in January, they tried to speak to PSG about terminating the loan at Tottenham. Thomas Frank didn’t allow that but things are now back on track now for the Frenchman.
Player has no regrets about the past
Kolo Muani spoke to Corriere della Sera in a detailed interview. He was asked why he was so keen on a return to Turin.
The striker revealed: “The first experience was wonderful – teammates, staff, fans, everything. Everything was perfect and I felt like part of the family. And then it was important to come back to finish the job they started.”
Describing his goals and the job that he intends to finish, he said:
“To bring Juve back to the top, the most important club in Italy, an iconic club.”
The striker indicating that Serie A suits him more than English football, which is one reason behind his failures at Tottenham.
“English football is really a continuous box-to-box, from one penalty area to another, while in Italy the game is extremely tactical.”
“You have to play with your head and not just with your feet. And then you work hard during the weekly training sessions, but I feel good.”
Kolo Muani also declared that he is focused on the present and has no regrets about the past.
“I’m someone who doesn’t drag negative thoughts with me; I work to forget the mistake immediately and focus on the next move. As Spalletti tells us, we must always stay on top of things. You have to think about the present.”
Transfer already working out
For the Bianconeri, Kolo Muani already looks like a different player. He appears more confident and is pushing himself more.
Some weeks ago, Sport Witness covered his comments about how he has never truly focused at Tottenham. He was constantly thinking about a move back to Juve and the way things are going, that appears to be quite true.
While he is yet to score, it should come soon. The 27-year-old is getting into the right positions and fixing Spalletti’s problems.
