With Burnley now back in the Premier League under Vincent Kompany, the club is likely to bolster their squad quite considerably this summer.
One of the areas that could be touched is midfield, more importantly in the creative part going forward, where someone like Mike Trésor, currently at KRC Genk, could help out.
The 24-year-old was already a target for Burnley last summer, and that could happen again, which the player would be more than delighted with, as he told Het Laatste Nieuws, relayed by Voetbalkrant.
He said: “Okay, I have learned that he appreciates my qualities. Of course, that is nice to hear. He plays with Burnley, with a certain philosophy in which I would feel good. For me, playing style has always been important when choosing a club.”
There’s no denying that Burnley have evolved a lot under Kompany, going from tough defensive football to a more expansive and attacking style, which earned them a lot of praise, as well as points, this season in the Championship.
Adding someone like Mike Trésor, who boasts 21 assists and eight goals in 34 league games for Genk this season, could be the extra boost the Clarets need in the Premier League, and that might be why the player himself is delighted at the idea of working with the Belgian manager should the chance present itself.
