Bryan Gil arrived in Sevilla earlier on Monday to complete his loan move to the Spanish club.
The transfer has been rumoured for a week or so, with the player’s father even commenting on the situation and making it clear he’d be happy to have his son closer to home.
Gil is clearly a talented player and when he moved to Valencia on loan in January 2022, he showed some flashes which had the local media comparing him to greats of the club.
There was the desire for a permanent deal but it didn’t come around and Gil returned to Tottenham. He struggled to get minutes with Antonio Conte and there’s been repeat hints in the Spanish media that a loan return to La Liga was desired.
On arriving in Seville, Gil got stepped out of his transport, holding his puppy, to be welcomed by Monchi, the club’s sporting director.
He’s had something of a whirlwind of a day and this evening spoke about the move.
Mucho Deportivo quote him as saying: “I found out last night that I have to travel, in fact I bought a suit because I didn’t have one.
“Two days ago it was a ‘no’. They didn’t let me go out, I was dying inside because they wouldn’t let me go. My agent called me at dinner time and told me that he was leaving today for Seville, with two friends who had come to visit me in London because the truth is that it was not possible for me to leave.”
Bryan Gil got his suit, grabbed his dogs, and headed off for the sunnier climate of Seville.
