IFK Göteborg youngster Melvin Koliqi has publicly revealed his dream is to make a switch to Chelsea in the future.
The 17-year-old has been with the Swedish club’s youth team and has recently received an opportunity to be part of the senior team for their pre-season tour to Portugal.
This gave Swedish newspaper Alingsås Tidning an opportunity to have a detailed chat with Koliqi, who featured in Göteborg’s 7-1 friendly defeat to Portuguese side CD Mafra earlier this week. This is where he confessed his love for Chelsea.
He suffered an injury in the same clash and has revealed his setback isn’t serious. If things go well, the report states the attacking midfielder could be in contention to make his first team debut against Nordic United FC on February 18th.
Koliqi has an immediate goal of making his way into Göteborg’s senior team and his long-term dream is to sign for Chelsea.
“I dream of playing in the Premier League with Chelsea, it’s my favourite team,” he said.
If the young midfielder were to shine for Göteborg in the comings months, it may draw the attention of Chelsea or other teams from the top five leagues in Europe.
