Despite some positive mentions last week after a good performance for Galatasaray, Tottenham loanee Tanguy Ndombele is back in the bad books in Turkey.
The latest comments come from Cenap Yener, writing for Aydinlink, who sat down and commented on the recent decisions made by the Turkish side’s manager, Okan Buruk.
The 50-year-old chose the Tottenham man in his starting line up for the 2-1 win over Kayserispor, and while there were three points at the end of it, the Frenchman failed to impress once again.
He was replaced by Kerem Demirbay, and it begs the question, at least in Yener’s eyes, as to why Buruk continues to trust the 27-year-old.
Ndombélé only has 11 appearances in the Süper Lig since he arrived on loan from Tottenham, and has been a constant target for criticism, with the latest, once again, targeting his fitness levels.
Yener wrote: “I don’t understand the preference for Ndombele instead of Demirbay, who has been in form in recent weeks. Ndombele can only play in the wrestling team in this form.”
He wasn’t the only one to criticise him, either, as Hikmet Karaman, relayed by GS Gazete, also had a go at the Tottenham loanee.
He said: “When I look at the running distances in the match, Ndombele, who plays number eight, ran less than Nelsson, who plays centre-back.”
