Arsenal are being linked to Corinthians youngster Pedrinho.
This rumour comes in a bit of a strange way, since it was briefly mentioned in Band’s show Os Donos da Bola.
Host Neto had been speaking of the problems Corinthians currently have and pointed out that Pedrinho suddenly disappeared from the team, and insinuated that’s because he could be joining Arsenal this summer.
Despite being just 17-years-old, Pedrinho was supposed to be featuring in the U-20 World Cup this year. Corinthians chose not to let him go, and by not using him now, they certainly made this situation a little mysterious.
“You have Pedro… Pedro I don’t know what’s going on. If the kid is going to be sold to Arsenal… I don’t know, huh. Remember I told you, Vessoni? Because here’s the thing, he didn’t go to the World Cup to play. And he’s good with the ball. He came in every game and doesn’t come in anymore”, said Neto.
Back in April, reports from Brazil said Premier League clubs had been watching him, with the likes of Brighton & Hove Albion and Newcastle United expected to make bids.
We’ve previously covered a few claims from Neto, and it’s always important to point out that he’s not the type of pundit who’s 100% committed to what he says. Still, with Arsenal keeping an eye on youngsters in South America, that’s a rumour that makes sense and one to keep an eye on.
