Ajax could move to bring Hakim Ziyech back to the club from Chelsea this summer, once they sell Mohamed Kudus.
That’s according to analyst Hans Kraay Jr, who believes Ziyech’s name could be one to watch in the coming weeks if Kudus departs as expected.
Kudus has been heavily linked with a move away from Ajax again this summer, with Brighton currently at the front of the queue vying for his signature.
They’re yet to get a deal over the line for the midfielder, who, according to some reports, is holding them at arm’s length in the hope that Borussia Dortmund will come calling for him instead.
Ziyech, meanwhile, remains at Chelsea after seeing a move to Saudi Arabia collapse after failing a medical when a move had already been agreed.
There’s been no interest in him since and he finds himself out of the picture under Mauricio Pochettino, with the Blues failing to give him a squad number this week.
That’s a clear sign they don’t want him and both he and his agents will need to work out a destination for him. Kraay jr believes that could be former club Ajax, if the dominoes fall in the right direction.
“Hakim Ziyech has not received a number at Chelsea and his transfer has been rejected a few times,” Kraay told ESPN, relayed by Ajax Fanatics.
“I can imagine that Ajax, if Mohammed Kudus leaves, will report to Ziyech. He can hang on the right wing and play on ten.”
